05 Oct Remember, Remember, Pets and Fireworks Don’t Mix!
Pets and Fireworks
The Autumn months are upon us and Bonfire Night isn’t far off! Fireworks can be exciting and entertaining for children and adults – many of us will have fond memories of going to a bonfire, drinking hot chocolate and watching the fireworks displays! Animals on the other hand, find fireworks terrifying and confusing, and it’s a horrible experience for pet owners too having to witness their pets struggling and scared.
Did you know…
Cool, calm and collected
As pet parents, it’s hard to know what to do to keep your pet comfortable during firework season. New pet owners may not have ever witness or considered the impact the noises that fireworks can have on their fur babies. Don’t fear, we’re here to help so read on for some great suggestions!
Let’s Get Classical
Classic FM’s ‘Pet Classics’ is returning this year; a radio show dedicated to keeping your pets calm during firework season.
They work in collaboration with the RSPCA to offer pet owners advice on keeping their pets safe and comfortable whilst the pops and bangs go off overhead. Tune in from 5pm on Saturday 4 November and Sunday 5 November as radio presenter, Charlotte Hawkins, plays calming and relaxing music, perfect to keep your pet (and you) tranquil and happy.
I wonder which composer your pet will enjoy the most… Richard WAGner perhaps? We’re sure that any Saint Bernard’s listening will be partial to a bit of Beethoven ! It’s going to be good enough to Bach at, so enjoy!
